本片讲述了林区青年“杨天放”，年轻时为给女朋友谭青母亲筹集治病的钱而走上了偷盗林木之路，被罚款后，受到了教育，外出打工拼博，数年后回到家乡，历经种种困难建立起了喇嘛山饮料厂的创业经历及他与谭青之间的一段爱情故事，以展现林区人艰苦创业、拼博进取、不甘落后精神。。Set in 1979 Western Australia. A power strike threatens to plunge the region into darkness, while the city hosts the iconic Miss Universe pageant and the US space station, Skylab, crashes just beyond the city's suburbs.。
