And that's when the nightmare begins.。东北某小镇，当了大半辈子火车修理工的大耳朵王抗美光荣退休。王本身患有气管病，老婆患病住院，儿子大军整天不务正业，女儿小萍跟丈夫春洋的婚姻也出现问题。虽然很多人说他耳朵大有福，生活美满，但时下的现状仍让他愁眉不展。拿着比原来少了一半的退休金，王总觉得心里没底，于是他开始琢磨找点儿事干。不过老王出师不利，老婆的病友给他介绍一个网络商务的工作，可没曾想竟是个传销组织，刚加入没多久便遭到警方取缔。在此之后，他又跟擦鞋女工、倒骑驴蹬车工、广告促销员、二人转演员、自行车修理工等各类手工艺者讨教赚钱之道，由此开始了自己别样的退休生活……。
