由赵亮担纲的纪晓岚将“风流”与“纵横才气”有机地结合在一起，突破了以往的戏路；有中国最年轻“皇帝小生”之称的朱磊则将弘历这个重情重义的皇帝演绎得丝丝入扣，而初上荧屏的宋妍塑造的香妃也相当“入戏”。该剧还有一大“靓”点，即这部戏的女演员中有7位是选美出身，可以说个个如花似玉，有倾国倾城之靓貌。。
