京剧名旦余佩秋在丈夫楚伯平被抓去台湾后，诞下一女，由于担心女儿楚楚的出身，她让结拜姐妹王彩凤冒名顶替收养了楚楚。由于对余佩秋的猜忌与歧视，京剧团团长路明在将楚楚偷偷带到城里医院验血时，将楚楚丢失。
