富家公子王子芳（李清饰）爱上了贫穷家庭出生的少女朱冰（黎灼灼饰），两人私定终身，朱冰的腹中还怀上了王子芳的骨肉。这段门不当户不对的感情自然遭到了王子芳父亲的强烈反对，他希望儿子迎娶的是同样出生名门的大家闺秀。王子王带着钱去找朱冰分手，个性桀骜的朱冰不仅没要王子芳的钱，还离开了故乡，之后在异乡生下了女儿珠儿（黎莉莉饰），独自将其抚养长大。 一晃眼十几年过去，珠儿已经成长为了亭亭玉立的少女。一场意外让朱冰的双眼失去了视力，她无法再挣钱养家了。为了支付母亲的医药费，珠儿在无奈之下只得出卖自己的色相换取金钱。。"Can't we all just live together?"
