A Japanese ghost story adapted from Hearn's "Yuki-Onna"(Kwaidan). Two woodcutters, an old man and his young apprentice, Minokichi get trapped in a snowstorm in the forest and take refuge in a hut. That night, Minokichi is forced to make a bargain that will later be forgotten.

Winner of Best Story at the European Machinima Festival '07.。舞台剧艺人十郎兵卫（真田广之饰）在一次演出事故中弄伤脚踝，被迫离开舞台，加入街头浪人剧团。期间他遇见艺妓花里（叶月里绪菜饰），然碍于身份始终无法靠近，潦倒之时作画打发时光。 江户大出版社耕书堂的老板茑屋重三郎（フランキー堺饰）因幕府的“宽政改革”被没收半数财产，解禁后其亲手培养的浮世绘名家喜多川歌磨（佐野史郎饰）也另谋高就。偶然机会茑屋看到十郎兵卫的画，大喜过望，将其招至麾下，以“东洲斋写乐”的名字集中出版他的作品。写乐怪异的画风起先受到民众的嘲笑，但渐渐为普罗大众所接受和追捧，歌磨的地位受到威胁…… 本片获日本电影旬报年度日本片第五名和最佳男主角。 [背景]写乐于1794年5月正式出道，次年1月销声匿迹，10个月内共发表一百四十多件作品。创作速度之快，风格数次变化，为当时浮世绘艺术家所不能。随着茑屋重三郎的去世，写乐的真实身份也成为一个永远...。淫僧知圆和尚利用红莲寺窝藏掳来的妇女。桂武误进贼巢，成为甘榴子的女婿，因不愿同流合污，决与妻子联珠连夜出走。后得金罗汉的神鹰相助，合力除掉奸贼，并火烧红莲寺，救出被困妇女。。
