Windows become portals to the lives of others.。アンデスに住むインディオの少年・ペペロは10歳の誕生日を迎えたその翌日に伝説の“黄金のコンドル”を目撃したことから、貧しい人々を救う宝があるという黄金都市・エルドラドを目指して旅に出ることになる。 その旅はまた、7年前にエルドラドに向かったまま消息を絶った父・カルロスの行方と、“黄金のコンドル”を見た日に出会った少女・ケーナの失われた記憶とを探す旅でもあった。。
