一位有权有势的神秘男子，有一个极其特别的爱好：沿着格鲁吉亚的海岸线收集百年古树。他会命令手下把古树连根拔起，移栽到他的私人花园里。其中一些树有15层楼那么高。为了运送如此巨大的古树，工人们必须砍倒沿途挡路的树，移开电缆，并铺设新路横穿当地的柑橘园。“连根拔起”已不再只是隐喻，它移栽进了一种压抑的、真实却又虚幻的现实。。Dr. Braun is forbidden to practice medicine because he's a Jew living in Nazi occupied Czechoslovakia.
